Our FA Trophy tie with Gateshead will be the subject of an early pitch inspection tomorrow morning.
In it’s current state the pitch is playable, and is has been cleared of snow, thus preventing a thaw this afternoon and a freezing pitch tonight.
The forecast is for -1 degree temperatures tonight, rising to just a couple of degrees around lunchtime tomorrow. This may be taken into consideration when deciding if the game can go ahead or not. Along with the match referee, the Gateshead groundsman will also be on hand to offer his insights as to the play-ability of the pitch.
It will be a youthful Imps side expected to travel, fixtures are piling up at the moment with Ipswich, Dover and Barrow all set to face the Imps in the space of a week.
As I’m travelling up tomorrow I’ll keep an eye out for the pitch inspection news and hopefully keep you informed in good time.
