‘Defintely capable of the play offs, maybe even top three’ – James Wilson

Centre-half James Wilson is delighted to be back on the pitch and he believes City can make the top seven, if not the top three.

“I knew we’d be in amongst it,” he said in today’s press conference. “We can definitely make the play off positions, maybe even the top three.”

Wilson has been out for five weeks after picking up an ankle injury in the 0-0 draw with Cambridge, but he made a late cameo against Grimsby at the weekend. He believes City just need to keep doing the same things as they have been doing.

“(We just need) everyone on the same page, doing the same thing, the same things the boys have been doing all season. If we do that, we’ll be just about there.”

Wilson joined after being released by Sheffield United after spending a loan spell at Walsall. He scored his first Imps goal with his first touch in the 1-1 draw away at Barnet. Morecambe are struggling at the bottom of the table, but Wilson is cautious of the threat they could cause.

“There’s no easy games in this league, Morecambe away is a tough place to go. Its a massive game.”

  1. “Morecambe away is a tough place to go to”.
No, the reputation is undeserved. There is a new bypass that takes you straight there from the M6. It’s now a much easier place to go to. Morecambe has views across the bay to the Lake District and there’s a thriving alternative arts scene. Not the tough place you would expect.
Stick to what you know Mr Wilson. UTI.

  2. Dude
Think you need to re-read the article.
Don’t really think he was talking about driving 😉

    • Morecambe have won 6 home league matches this season so it’s not such a tough place away. Leicester said Fleetwood was a tough place to come to. Everyone says it. Time for a bit of pi** taking.

  3. To be fair, I think Chris was just trying to be ‘funny’. Don’t give up your day job Chris 🙂 Imps 4ever

  4. Gary, the adverts on your site are becoming very invasive.
In trying to read this article I was redirected eight times to betway’s site.
It’s been the same the last few times I’ve visited & tried to read one of your articles.
Obviously you need adverts to keep the site going, however is there not a less aggressive & tiresome way to do it?
You might not be aware this is happening, either way it’s taking the shine off of what is otherwise a fantastic blog.
