Otim is a 20-year-old who was released by Barnsley at the end of last season after a year with the club. He’s a former Forest trainee who left them at the end of the 2018 season having come through the youth ranks.

When he signed for Barnsley he is reported as saying: “I’m really happy about the opportunity I have here at Barnsley, the faith they’ve shown in me, and I am ready to show the faith back.

“I am a central midfielder, but if I needed to fill in at: right back, right wing, left wing, behind the striker I can do that. I want to show what I’m made of and push on.”

That’s interesting because it’s perhaps the sort of player Danny is looking to bring in next; a ‘Jack of all trades’ who could offer cover from the bench in the event of injury. The fact is our budget will only go so far and having a player who can fill several positions will be useful.

However, a central midfielder by trade is not what we need.

  1. All those mentioned played yesterday. Harriman did OK – bit smaller than Eards. Edibor looked good but …..he had no real opposition so plenty of time with the ball.

  2. I don’t think the “Alex” that was playing looked anything like this guy. He was blond for a start.
