Lockdown Quiz Live Quarter Finals (Part One)

The exciting Lockdown Quiz saw TWO quarter-finals played out last night, both as tense as each other.

Hosted by yours truly, we first met Sam Wray and Dave Rooke for the first time. Both qualified through the live event and came head to head for a place in the semis. The family connection was strong in both; Dave had seen daughter Emily eliminated in the heats, only to come in and take her place, whilst Sam’s brother Chris, known as CJW, is also in the last eight.

It was all to play for as they entered the head to head with some gripping viewing for the neutrals.

That was followed by the appearance of Jon Leonard, the highest-scoring heat qualifier. He faced Gav Hughes, the victor over Emily Rooke in the first round and possibly described as the underdog. Again, going into the last two questions the tie was still very much alive after a challenging and engrossing encounter.

You can watch both ties below in one 45-minute show, with another along this evening. Another favourite, Kev Barwise, meets Dan Rawson in one tie to decide a semi-final line up. First up at 7.30 pm, CJW takes on Steve Freestone to decide who will complete the first of the semi-final ties.

It’s been described as ‘gripping’, ‘the best thing about lockdown’ and ‘alright, but I can’t stand the host’. Whatever your thoughts, don’t miss tonight’s episode and make sure you’re up to scratch with last night’s events too.
