Imps linked with striker loan swoop

The Imps have been linked with a loan swoop for West Brom forward Jamie Soule, as per a report by Gloucestershire Live.

I’ve spoken about Soule before on here, way back when Michael first joined the club, and it seems as though we might be making a move for him in light of Callum Morton’s recent injury. Michael has hinted that players could come in, maybe if one or two leave on loan, and with this report coming from a reputable source, we might be seeing some movement before October 16th.

19-year-old Soule is an out and out centre forward who might just be a good alternative to Tom Hopper in the latter stages of games. He’s quick, six feet tall and enjoyed a brief senior loan spell last season with Barrow, where he made just two sub appearances before the season ended.

If you need convincing of his potential, he was linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund towards the end of the 2018/19 season. He penned a three-year deal almost a year ago today and is certainly one for the future. If I dare, I might even suggest he is in the Kemar Roofe bracket, the striker Michael took on loan from West Brom whilst at oxford, later signing him permanently and selling him on for a chunk of profit.

It remains to be seen how accurate the reports are, but with it coming from the reputable source, it is likely to be spot on. Perhaps we wouldn’t be looking to add to our attacking ranks if Morton were fit, but with the WBA man ruled out for a couple of months, this loan makes perfect sense. It could pave the way for someone to leave on loan, with Michael hinting that might need to happen before anyone comes in.

One player likely to leave the club in the near future is striker Jordan Adebayo-Smith, and it could be one in, one out in the next few days.
