Harry Anderson Departs: Reaction & Memorable Matches

I know the picture is from a different game, but Bubs can’t get to every fixture you know!

It was our first season back in the Football League and the little village team from Gloucestershire we love so much came up with us. We were on a bit of a run, but we had them, Mansfield and Notts County in a three-game spell. That doesn’t look bad now, but back then it was three good teams on the spin. The toughest, by far, was Forest Green away. On a wet night in Nailsworth, where our fans were left without cover, Harry Anderson gave us a 1-0 win. He left everyone on the field for dead, as if he were riding a motorbike and they were pedalling kiddies trikes, seizing on a ball forward and bagging. Anderson faced Mark Cooper seven times as a Lincoln City player, scoring in a couple of those games, but this one really stood out, not least because we lost the next two matches.
