Harry Anderson Departs: Reaction & Memorable Matches

I did want to pick one match from each season, but I couldn’t separate these two as I couldn’t the last two. In three days, Harry single-handedly sparked hope and maybe even belief we could one day be a Championship side. I never believed it when we first got promoted, but since those three days in August 2019, part of me has always thought it possible.

It started away at Rotherham, a difficult trip to the New York Stadium on paper. City led 1-0 at half time and it felt like we might be under pressure in the second period, but who should pop up with a goal just after half time? H, and the home side never recovered. He took that form with him when we went off to Huddersfield in the Carabao Cup three days later. We didn’t really have a hope, Huddersfield were fresh out of the Premier League and expected to do well in the Championship. They didn’t though, and Harry’s goal gave us the win. It may have alerted them to the skills of the Colwey’s too, but hey ho. Harry even popped up in the next leg with an opener against Everton to briefly give us belief of another giant-killing.
