Hayden Cann and Jovon Makama will spend this season out on loan with Gainsborough Trinity.
It had been widely reported that Makama would do so after he signed a professional deal with the club, but news that Hayden Cann will join him is relatively new. Hayden is a rarity in the current youth setup – he’s a Lincoln lad who has come through, rather than a player brought in from outside the usual catchment area.

Hayden has played for the first team, appearing briefly in last year’s EFL Trophy, whilst Jovon was on the bench last night as we went down on penalties against Shrewsbury Town.
The official club statement said of the loans: “The loan moves to Trinity will help bridge the gap between the Imps’ Youth Team and First Team, as Jovon and Hayden will now be able to experience the demands and physical challenge of competing in the Northern Premier League (Step 3). The players will also be eligible to play in FA Youth Cup fixtures for the Imps.”
Director of Football Jez George added: “As previously explained these loans are an opportunity for Hayden and Jovon to gain valuable experience at a senior level which will be far more beneficial to them than playing in our youth side on Saturday.

Hayden signed a three-year deal with the club last October, whilst Jovon penned his first contract over this summer. Both will now join up with Tom shaw, Gainsborough boss and youth coach, hopefully getting vital experience of senior football, allowing them to find a clear pathway throguh to our first team setup.
