As announced earlier in the week, we’ve joined forces with Vital Lincoln City to promote the Stacey West Development Fund, looking to add some money to the current drive for funding to complete the redevelopment of the Stacey West Stand.
The fund has already reached £1760, so a huge thank you to everyone who has donated. That figure is going to receive a boost over the coming weeks, as Chris Wray, the mastermind behind Imptoons, has also joined up to help raise funds.
He is set to donate some profits from his next card drop directly to the fund, which will give it another healthy boost. Chris is well-known for his superb fundraising efforts; he has an advertising board at the ground and has put thousands into good causes since first penning his cartoons.
“I’m always keen for the profits from my drawings to go to either the club or local charities and community projects,” he said when signing up to the fund. “Supporting this fundraising project, therefore, seems a natural decision – not only will the expansion of the Stacey West be a huge boost for the club, it will also provide a new home for the Lincoln City Foundation to continue their good work.
“I’m pleased to be able to play my part and contribute, no matter how small.”
Chris has been penning his cartoons since the 2016/17 season, and at the end of each campaign, he releases a yearbook packed with excellent content. He’s on hand after most matches to give his views in picture form, and he has released a set of cards featuring first team players, which are set to get an expansion – mine landed in the post today, and you can grab yours at the Ipswich game a week on Saturday.
When you do, you’ll also be helping to redevelop The Stacey West Stand; what could be better than that?
I’ve just scoured my archives for a cartoon of Chris’s, and this is the one that makes me laugh the most!
