This post will be pinned to my profile throughout September, updating on my progress as I look to run 60 miles in September.
If you missed the original post, why I’m running is here. Each day I will update my run diary and put the previous run on another page, so you don’t have to scroll through pages of running stuff! If you would like to donate to support CALM, which is why I’m doing this, you can do so at my Just Giving page.
If you are struggling with your mental health, a couple of years ago, I put together some tips that helped me during my dark times. They may be of use, and you can find them by clicking here.
Current CALM total – £512
22nd September – Run 18 – 11.1 miles (none to go)
And there it is, with eight days to spare.
I can’t write a huge amount here because I’m about to record the podcast, but I always wanted to go out with a bang. I wanted a run that made a statement about how anything is possible. At the start of this event, I was struggling to do two miles, and yet on Saturday morning, I did 11. One month, but such huge progress.
I do just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has sponsored this endeavour. We’ve smashed the £500 mark, and that’s just great. That money will help save lives, it will help bring people back from the brink.
Personally, I started this journey as I could feel myself slipping. Four weeks later, and I feel ten times better. Having a focus and a goal is really important, and my next goal is a half marathon. It won’t be for sponsorship or anything, it’ll be for me, but the last four weeks have given me that impetus as well. If the run and your kindness saves lives, then it has also helped improve mine.
Right, on to the podcast, where doubtless there will be the ‘do you run’ jokes.
