There are currently nine City players out on loan, and finally, MJ Kamara got some serious minutes in the NIFL.
Of those nine, only one is in the EFL, two are in the NIFL, while another three are in the National League. Finally, a pair of youngsters are getting their first serious exposure at Lincoln United.
I have added one more – I missed Bola Okewoye heading to Grimsby Borough, at some point, but he’s definitely there!
Here’s how they all got on yesterday.
MJ Kamara – Glentoran
Last week I suggested MJ might be recalled, and perhaps Declan Devine saw that and thought he’d best give MJ some minutes.
He’ll be glad he did. Many rated him as Man of the Match as he turned in a strong display, even rattling the crossbar with a header. They drew 2-2 with Cliftonville, but MJ won a whopping 78% of his defensive duels and made three interceptions.
Zane Okoro – Coleraine
It’s odd that Zane isn’t mentioned first, as he’s the big hope for the Imps, and he was back in from the start as Coleraine went top with a 3-1 win against struggling Carrick.
He wasn’t among the goals or assists, by typically completed all of his dribbles and delivered four crosses, albeit all evaded their target.
It’s only the second game since early September that he hasn’t registered a shot for the Bannsiders.

JJ McKiernan – Burton Albion
McKiernan didn’t play this weekend, as Brackley face Burton tomorrow. He didn’t play in their First Round tie, but as we’re out, there is little fear of him getting cup-tied.
JJ has started nine games for the Brewers in League One, but he’s dropped out of favour of late, and has been restricted to outings from the bench.
Oisin Gallagher – Boston United
Boston were thrashed by Morecambe at the Jakeman’s a few weeks ago, but they got revenge in the north west yesterday with a fine 3-0 win. The big man, Lenny John-Lewis, grabbed a brace, but our Oisin started at the back.
It was his third full game for Boston, and we’re definitely seeing his potential as he emerges as a solid option for the Pilgrims, who climb to 16th in the table.
Charlie Parks – Gainsborough Trinity
Gainsborough lifted themselves to seventh in the table, with games in hand on teams above, with a 3-0 win against Warrington.
Sadly, Charlie Parks missed out, as he was absent with the flu. Former Imp Johnny Margetts bagged a brace.
Jamie Pardington – Oxford City
Pardington was back in action for Oxford City, and what a massive win it was.
Languishing in the bottom three, they smashed five past high-flying Darlington, with just one conceded by our loan keeper.
That gives them a huge lift in the battle against the drop in the National League North, although there is still a lot of work to do.
Today’s away fixture against Garforth Town has been postponed, due to a waterlogged pitch.
The game will now be rearranged by The Pitching In Northern Premier League, and we will announce details of this in due course.

Daniel Vanderpuye & Charlie Carlisle – Lincoln United
After seeing last week’s game against North Ferriby called off, the Whites were eager to get into action against Garforth Town.
Sadly, the Billy Heath era still isn’t up and running – their game was called off, so no action for Daniel Vanderpuye or Charlie Carlisle.
Bola Okewoye – Grimsby Borough
Known as The Wilderness Boys, Grimsby Borough play in the Northern Premier League – East Division, which is step four, the same as Lincoln United.
Bola played for them yesterday as they went down 2-0 to ten-man Emley. He’s a teammate of former Imps Dayle Southwell and Bradley Wood.
