A City United: Issue 2
It’s a belting issue if I may say so. With the Whites Mortgages Sunday League due to kick off this weekend we’ve gone for a ‘Sunday League’ special. See our full-colour coverage of Newtoft Terriers and Lincoln High Street, as well as Saxilby Sports and The Blue Lion. This isn’t just match reports though, we’re aiming to get to the root of what drives the committed individuals that manage, play or just watch park football across the league.
We’ve also got a ‘Secret Sunday League Manager’ who will be chatting to us over the weeks about the things he’s seen in his time in the league. We’ve got an article about how the league started up too, with EXCLUSIVE photographs from the early 1960’s showing what Sunday Football meant in the months after it was started.
We’ve got features on the cup draws in our Sunday League as well as all the league fixtures and their locations should you want to take in a match.
Of course we’ve got coverage of the Whites and the Imps too, with lot’s of great photographs from Graham Burrell. We look ahead to their September fixtures with travel information and a look at their opponents. We also recap on an interesting opening month of the season for both.
Not enough? How about a couple of special features, one from a former Collingham player on why Shane Nicholson made it, and he didn’t? Maybe something on the Nettleham and Aston Villa match from the early 1990’s? Two exclusive cartoons from the hilariously funny Chris Wray? Lincoln Moorlands Ladies coverage?
We’ve even got a wonderful piece on the day Lincoln beat Grimsby 5-0, relive it all with great words and accompanying pictures. Y’know, like a proper football magazine, only with local players, local news and local interest.
