Imps v Exeter teams

Sadly, due to my body’s insistence on me becoming Mr Glass in the next ‘Unbreakable’ film, I am unable to travel to Exeter. However, there is some good news. As I’m in the shire of Lincoln I can listen to the game live without the issues many are suffering across the country!

There’s no doubt it’s going to be tough at St James Park, but having seen the team sheet there are plenty of positives. Firstly, Sean Raggett has managed to travel from Norwich to Exeter in time for the game. There may be an air of relief around the club that the deal is sorted, but hopefully there will be no change from the all-action displays he’s been putting in of late.

It’s also nice to see Luke Waterfall back in the side. He spoke in midweek about being captain and how it didn’t guarantee a place in the first eleven, but obviously it counts for something! Luke had an average pre-season before his injury, but I’ve no doubt once he crosses the paint in Football League competition he’ll be a massive addition. I felt we’ve been quite wasteful from set-pieces in the first two games, and Luke is integral to most of the routines we ran last year. Don’t be surprised at him scoring today.

Sam’s made it on the bench as well, I expect it was all the sitting around in the fans forum waiting for a question to be directed at him. It’s been frustrating for him this summer, his operation last year was done at a time when it was considered he had ample opportunity to recover, but it hasn’t been straightforward. Expect to see him for the last ten minutes if the game is won/lost by that point. I wouldn’t expect Danny to stick him on if it’s delicately poised though.

Twenty minutes until kick-off. Let’s go get a result City!
