Forest Green Rovers keeper Bradley Collins has been swiftly cleared by the FA of spitting at Sean Raggett.
Raggett erupted with rage at the final whistle of our recent match-up, with Collins the focus of his fury. Raggett, who doesn’t make a habit of losing his cool in that way, is now judged to have been incorrect in his allegation he’d been spat at.
Similarly several Lincoln players witnessed the incidents and made statements to collaborate Sean’s story. They today have also been deemed as untruthful by the FA.
What more can be said? I didn’t see the incident so I can’t categorically say it did or it did not happen, but Danny Cowley is not the type of manager that complains about situations once matches are over, nor does he chase lost causes with the FA if video evidence does not support his claims. However, his belief that our player was spat at has also been dismissed by the FA, who have ruled that Collins of Premier League giants Chelsea, is innocent.
What a quick outcome it was, given that our evidence was only sent in yesterday. You have to praise the FA for their swiftness in dealing with the situation. No doubt Wayne Shaw and Bradley Wood are delighted they’ve finally sped up their process.
The decision brings to a close three days of hostility between the two clubs arising from the match which thankfully the better team won 1-0.
We no doubt look forward to welcoming Bradley Collins and FGR at Sincil Bank later in the season (probably not Cooperman though) where their fans will have adequate shelter, and our players won’t spit on their opponents, nor will we result to comments and name calling in the media post-match.
Hopefully, once that match is concluded, we won’t have to see them ever again.
They are beneath contempt. So lucky to be supporting a proper football club. Thank goodness I’ll be watching Mansfield tomorrow. Unlikely to be any controversy there?
Why should we be surprised. Can’t have anything spoiling the ‘Fairy-tale’ of FGR can we…..
. yes does make you wonder if the FA actually did take this seriously. Maybe the FA will get some free ‘green’ electricity for the energy they used up or maybe not of course 🙂 Last sentence was perfect Gary!! Imps 4ever
Those of us that were there saw them flashpoint immediately as players went to shake hands. I still feel that something went ‘off’ whatever it was .
Was it just the fact they had lost for the fifth time this season and already know they are dead men walking .
I have a feeling it was something to do with their feelings of inadequecy when confronted with a colossus of a man like Raggs and a team who have spirit and bottle in abundance something they are sadly lacking in .
*Cough* what FGR a fans at SB later this season? Mired in the bottom 2, they’ll fit in the shelter of the dug out.
That Raggs was spat upon there is no doubt, his reaction at the final whistle was so out of character that he had to be right, not that the FA old farts would realise that. But who got the points? time to move on and deal with something even more repugnant, and in so doing ease the Fat Boy closer to his P45.
