The club want everyone to be a part of the Wembley experience, but we all know someone who has departed who can’t be there.
I’ve been informed that the club have been given space in the programme to remember any loved ones who have since passed, but who would have loved to have seen the Imps at Wembley. It might be your Dad or Grandad, it might be a lifelong friend or relative who took you to your first game.
The current Lincoln City set up is keen to pay tribute to Imps who have since passed, something I think is a lovely touch. All you need to do is send their names, forename, any nickname and surname, to myimps@lincolncityfc.co.uk to have your loved one remembered in the programme.
For me, it will be granddad Hutchinson, my Dad’s father. He passed in 1992, sadly just four years after I’d starting watching City, but he was as staunch as they come. He’d taught his budgie to say ‘Mick Harford’ and we buried him in a ‘John Ward – Lincolnshire Poacher’ scarf. he would have loved a day out at Wembley and having his name in the programme will be a lovely touch, made possible by the club. I wasn’t keen on the #ImpsAsOne when I first saw it, but I’m beginning to understand now.
The deadline is Monday, April 2nd at 12pm.
