Imps Midfielder Seals Sincil Bank Exit

Promising City midfielder Oisin Gallagher has signed for National League North side Peterborough Sports on loan until early January.

The Republic of Ireland U19 international came through City’s Academy after joining from Derry City and has made five first-team appearances for the Imps. Three of those have come this season – including his first start in the EFL Trophy fixture at Derby County. He played this week as we beat Wolves Under 21s 2-0 and will still be eligible for our final group game against Notts County in November.

He joins fellow Imp Hayden Cann at The Turbines, who are managed by former professional duo Michael Gash and Luke Steele.

“Oisin is an outstanding young player who has made real progress in the past six months and now needs a spell of playing regularly for the next stage of his development,” said Jez George, City’s director of football.

“This is a club we know well, with joint managers that we trust, and we have already seen how well Hayden Cann has performed and progressed. We look forward to Oisin doing the same and then re-assessing his plan for the rest of the season in January.”

This certainly looks like a solid move for Gallagher, who needs to get regular football, and with it being a short-term deal until January, I do wonder if it means a possible loan move back to Ireland in the New Year.
