There’s no shame in a hat trick, including a penalty, obviously, but this one did. Bristol Rovers were struggling for players at the time, if I recall correctly, they only had one fit centre back and Joey Barton left him on the bench.
This was the last of the really impressive Mark Kennedy performances, I think.
Anthony Scully v Man Utd U21s 24/09/2021
Anthony Scully has had horrible luck since leaving City, his hat trick against United kids certainly sticks in the mind. He was on fire during this period – a couple of days later he bagged two and made three against Cambridge in our most comprehensive performance (in terms of shots on target) until yesterday.
Hannibal Mejbri was also sent off in this game.
