Ashley Grimes v Stockport 22/01/11
I do find it incredible that Ashley Grimes never really did it anywhere else, because he was one bright spark in a very poor season back in 2010/11.
His hat trick at Stockport earned us a 4-3 win, which ultimately helped nobody, as we both went down. Still, Grimes was the last player to back an EFL hat trick for us before we were relegated. Before him…. a hat trick of hat tricks.
Jamie Forrester v Mansfield Town 26/08/2006
I know the image isn’t Mansfield, but Forrester’s first hat trick came at Field Mill. He actually netted four times, but two of those were penalties.
They all count, of course, but they came after five goalless games for the veteran striker, and it would be seven before he scored again!
