This is the second instalment of our Stacey West series comparing Lincoln City’s stats with the standout performers across League One.

Following the goals-per-90 feature, this time we’re celebrating players who struck outside the box—only those playing at least 400 minutes and scoring three or more long-range efforts feature.

As always, the data comes from Wyscout, so give them credit (or blame) if anything looks out of place!

12. Charlie Kelman – 3 from outside (Leyton Orient)

Charlie Kelman enjoyed a strong campaign with Leyton Orient, playing over 4,000 minutes and scoring three goals from outside the area. The 23-year-old striker, known for his intelligent movement and aggressive pressing, added a long-range threat to his arsenal this season.

His ability to shoot early and accurately gave Orient an extra dimension going forward. Kelman’s confidence in trying his luck from distance also made him a handful for goalkeepers, and his development this season suggests there’s more to come.

11. Tom Bayliss – 3 from outside (Lincoln City)

Tom Bayliss added another dimension to City’s midfield (when fit) in 2024/25, contributing three goals from outside the box across 2,177 minutes. Known for his ball-carrying and control under pressure, Bayliss picked his moments well, striking with accuracy from range.

His goals often came in matches City were cruising – against Peterborough and Bristol Rovers in particular. The 26-year-old provided a reliable presence in central areas and emerged as one of the side’s most consistent performers when it came to unlocking tight defences with a moment of individual quality.

10. Elliot Lee – 3 from outside (Wrexham)

Elliot Lee remained a key creative outlet for Wrexham throughout 2024/25, netting three goals from beyond the penalty area. The 30-year-old attacking midfielder has long been known for his eye for goal, and this season was no different.

Comfortable receiving the ball between the lines, Lee’s vision and technique allowed him to strike from range with confidence. His goals often came in key moments and underlined his importance to Wrexham’s promotion push.
