City stopper George Wickens has been nominated for the September PFA League One Fans’ Player of the Month.
Wickens impressed in a month that kept Imps’ fans gripped. I widely expect to see another nomination shortly, for Michael Skubala as Manager of the Month, but we shall see.
Wickens kept two clean sheets in September, against Peterborough and Burton, but made saves in the other two games, against Luton and Wigan. He made four saves in the Wigan game, helping earn us a 2-2 draw, the only game we didn’t win in League One.
The 23-year-old – who celebrated his 50th game for the Imps last Saturday – has been nominated alongside the following:
