Grant Focused on Work at Huddersfield Town
Lee Grant says his Huddersfield Town squad will use the current fixture break to focus on “work and execution” after their narrow defeat to Stockport County. The Terriers were due to face Luton this weekend, but that game’s postponement has provided valuable time on the training ground.
“We’ve found moments again today and not been able to take them, and that’s disappointing, because in a game where we are below par in my opinion, still having those opportunities and moments that we create gives you an opportunity to get back in, and find a way back into the game, and we didn’t take those moments,” he said, in a sentence that just feels too long.
Grant has been open about his desire to refine the team’s finishing and build cohesion after a demanding start to the campaign. He also expects several injured players, including Mickel Miller and Antony Evans, to return soon.
“We’ve got to stick together and work,” he told HTTV, highlighting the need to turn good passages of play into results. The calm tone reflects a manager who doesn’t feel as worried about his position as he should be, given that other so-called promotion candidates, Luton, Wycombe and Blackpool have all pulled the trigger already.
Speaking of which……
