Ian Holloway Out Of Blackpool Running

Ian Holloway has ruled himself out of the Blackpool vacancy, reiterating his commitment to Swindon Town amid speculation linking him with a return to Bloomfield Road. The 62-year-old, who guided Blackpool to Premier League promotion in 2010, has indicated his focus remains on the Robins, whom he took charge of in October last year and currently has sitting second in League Two.

Blackpool are seeking a successor to Steve Bruce, with Stephen Dobbie and Steve Banks overseeing preparations as interim bosses for this weekend’s trip to Stockport County.

Holloway’s stance comes despite his historic ties to the Seasiders and bookmaker interest placing him among early candidates. Current market prices instead point towards Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt as favourite at 1/2, with Leyton Orient’s Richie Wellens next at 2/1.

Holloway’s decision narrows Blackpool’s field at a time when the club assesses both immediate stability and a longer-term appointment. His return to management with Swindon last season ended a four-year hiatus and culminated in securing their league status, leading to an extended deal at the County Ground. For Blackpool, the short-term picture stays with Dobbie and Banks while the board weighs approaches elsewhere.
