Lincoln City Loan Watch: How Did Our Out On Loan Players Do This Weekend?

Credit Graham Burrell

There are currently seven City players out on loan.

Of those seven, only one is in the EFL, two are in the NIFL, while another two are in the National League. Finally, a pair on youngsters are getting their first serious exposure at Lincoln United.

Here’s how they all got on yesterday.

Zane Okoro – Coleraine

Zane started for Coleraine, but the Bannsiders were beaten, which severely dents their NIFL title aspirations.

They’re top after 16 games, but only a point clear of Larne, who have two games in hand. Sixth-placed Cliftonville inflicted the defeat, and Zane came off after 51 minutes without a shot or chance.

It is the first time he has started for his side and not had an effort all season.

MJ Kamara – Glentoran

MJ is having a tough time getting league minutes, and he was again an unused sub as third-placed Glentoran lost 1-0 to Dungannon Swifts on Friday night.

So far, MJ has just 67 minutes of NIFL action under his belt, alongside some outings in the cup.

JJ McKiernan – Burton Albion

JJ McKiernan was a player we’d hoped to see something of this season, but he departed in what has been described as a ‘player-driven’ departure, looking for regular football.

He has struggled of late. After coming off at half-time of their draw with Doncaster, he has been used only as a sub. He got injured in October, coming on at half-time but leaving the game 30 minutes later against Peterborough.

He was back in action against Blackpool, but didn’t have a game this weekend, as Burton’s trip to Exeter was postponed.

Oisin Gallagher – Boston United

Oisin has rejoined Boston for the season, and like is, they see him as a central defender.

He got 90 minutes (100 with stoppages) as Graham Coughlan’s side went down 2-1 at home against Carlisle United. Those minutes came exclusively at right centre back, where he won 80% of his aerial duels and 80% of his ground duels.

Jamie Pardington – Oxford City

Pardington might be the third man at Sincil Bank, but he had a hugely impressive debut for Oxford City, who earned a 0-0 draw at Marine this weekend.

He faced nine shots, making six reflex saves. His expected goals against was 2.42, making him the main reason his side didn’t slip to a damaging defeat.

Daniel Vanderpuye & Charlie Parks – Lincoln United

Both our young players were on the bench for Lincoln United against Ashington, under the watchful eye of a pair of former Imps trainees. Parks came on after 44 minutes following an injury to Jack Varley, while Vanderpuye was a late sub, coming on with the score already 2-1 to Blyth, which is how it ended.
