Bostwick dismissal overturned: no suspension for midfielder

Whilst it hasn’t been made official yet, the Stacey West has it on rock-solid authority that Michael Bostwick’s red card from Saturday has been sensationally overturned and he’s clear to play this evening.

Bozzie was sent of in the final ten minutes of out thrilling 2-1 win against Colchester, putting a dampener on the overall outcome of three points for City. He faced a one-match ban, tonight against Coventry City, but Danny Cowley confirmed the club were going to appeal.

There seemed little in the challenge as Bozzie wrestled with the Colchester forward, both seemingly battling in equal measure, but Darren Handley didn’t agree and he dismissed the former Peterborough man.

Colchester didn’t score from the resulting free-kick, instead we rallied late on and grabbed a winner.

Today, news will break that Bozzie is clear to play after the FA agreed with Lincoln City’s evidence proving it was NOT a sending off offence. A source from London has revealed that he will not be banned for the crucial match this evening.

Finally, a common sense decision from the FA.

  1. And too right. Poor decision again from the officials and justice done. We need him tonight against a very capable Coventry. Hoping Accrington get their point so they might not be as up for it Saturday when we play them.

  2. Hallelujah, at last the suits at the top have applied some common sense for once. Now let’s get in there and make the most of it. UTMI

  3. Darren Handkey the referee from Saturday is the 4th official tonight.thst should be interesting

  4. Great news! However still showing as suspended on FA website and I know LCFC were desperately trying to keep this quiet and so keep Coventry guessing……… they’re not guessing any more……..

    • Really? That’s a shame. I thought the FA would announce it and it would be common knowledge. If I had known I’d never work against the club.

  5. Gary, I reckon that Coventry would have viewed the ‘non’ sending off a few times and assumed Bozzie would be playing tonight so I don’t see how the ‘lets keep it (red card overturned)quiet’ would work somehow. So no harm done as I can see and here’s to a positive result tonight and look forward to the playoffs. Imps 4ever
