Imps star chased by host of Championship clubs

Harry Anderson is being pursued by a host of Championship clubs, according to a report on Team Talk.

Two of the sides we’ve faced in friendlies this season, Norwich and Blackburn, are said to hold an interest, as well as Championship leaders Sheffield United.

Anderson, who is contracted until 2020, joined the club officially in July 2017 after having two loan spells, becoming one of only a handful of players to have three separate stints with the Imps.

This season he’s been a regular on the flank opposite Bruno Andrade, offering a very different prospect to the former Boreham Wood man. Whilst Andrade is all about pace and trickery, Anderson is far more bullish, strong and resilient.

It was an Anderson pass that gave John Akinde his chance this weekend against Forest Green and as the weeks progress, Anderson looks to be an increasingly important figure for City.

Preston North End are also thought to be watching Anderson, who wouldn’t be leaving the club on the cheap. he came along with Michael Bostwick in a deal rumoured to be worth around £150,000, but that figure would now surely be the starting point for any club wishing to prise him away.

  1. Interesting. But isn’t Harry only contracted for until 2020? Didn’t he sign a 3 year contract in July 2017, if so that would complete 2020 not 2021 Gary.

  2. Interesting! Harry is clearly a fast emerging talent (I didn’t expect him to feature so heavily this season to be honest) but I wonder if he is far enough on yet to interest Championship clubs in being a squad player straightaway at least? I would have thought he would be better off staying here for at least the remainder of this season and hopefully getting a promotion on his CV. Good luck to him whatever happens – he has been a terrific find and asset for us.

  3. Shows I know absolutely nothing about what this game is about! Any deal would be a good deal. The modern game played on pristeen pitches requires greater technical ability. Respectful of Harry’s energy strength and desire, he will always earn a living but not sure that will be enough at Div 1 level. Sorry Nan!G

  4. You’re wearing rose tinted glasses again from where I sit. Myself and many people around me in the Coop stand marvel at how many times he’s been included and contributed very little. I know he’s only young but he’s looked lost on several occasions and doesn’t seem to have improved on last season. For once I say take the money and buy a better proposition in January!!!

  5. Can’t believe this story, Anderson is never a Championship player. In my opinion he is one of our weaker players and if another club puts an offer in in January then I would snap their hands off.
