Luke Waterfall

Luke was at the club before Danny arrived, and had struggled for games and form, but made a huge impression as captain in the title-winning season. Not only did he play 44 league games, but he struck seven goals too, the vital equaliser at Forest Green and the winner at North Ferriby two of the more significant. He was a rugged leader, strong and fearless, and he had a reputation for having a magic hat, which appeared for the final game of the season against Southport.
In 2/17/18 he captained the club to the EFL Trophy win, and the play-offs, making him the most decorated skipper in the club’s history. Just after the opening fixtures of the 2018/9 season, Shrewsbury purchased him to play for them in League One, where he again had a knack of scoring goals, bagging six in 54 appearances. The following year he signed for Grimsby, but his time there has not been happy. In 58 league starts he has three goals, two red cards and most recently bagged an own goal as they lost 3-0 at home to Morecambe, more or less confirming their relegation.
Sean Raggett

Raggs has been seen lining up against City this season, and is always given a warm welcome for his role in promotion. After doing a late U-turn and signing for us instead of Tranmere, the Dover man became a key part of the title-winning squad, appearing 41 times. He liked a goal too, grabbing the winner against Eastleigh which set us up for the title run-in, as well as one in the FA Cup against Altrincham…..
He joined Norwich in the summer of 2017, but was loaned back to us for six months, making his final appearance against Forest Green. He couldn’t force his way into the Norwich setup and was loaned to Rotherham, where he suffered a nagging ankle injury. He spent last season on loan at Portsmouth, and made the move permanent in the summer. This season, he has been reunited with the Cowley’s after they took over from Kenny Jackett.
Elliott Whitehouse

‘Gloves’, as my Dad always called him, could be considered a bit-part player in the title win. He joined mid-season and made 14 starts, with 13 outings from the bench. He did score some crucial goals, a winner against Wrexham and a late one at Sutton which eventually earned us a point. There was a feeling that the midfielder would be a key player in the future, and so it proved.
He wasn’t integral to our promotion assault in 2017/18, he started just 12 league games and came off the bench 20 times, but he did get the winner at Wembley to leave his indelible mark on the club. That summer, he opted to move to Grimsby Town, but immediately picked up a serious injury and missed the whole campaign. By the time he came back to fitness, we were champions and they were on the slide. Three goals and 38 Mariners’ outings later, he left for Forest Green.
His first goal for Mark Cooper’s side came at Sincil Bank as we beat them 6-2 in the FA Cup, and he’s since added two to that tally as they hunt a place in the League Two play-offs, without Cooper.
