Michael Skubala has suggested Oisin Gallagher will be heading out on loan after he bounced back into action this week.
Oisin turned in a strong performance against Barnsley in the EFL Trophy, returning from a lay-off stretching back to his time on loan at Boston United.
The talented 20-year-old is now expected to head back out on loan, sooner rather than later.
“We need to think about Oshin to get some game time, so you might see him go out on loan over the not-too-distant future,” said Michael in his Imps + interview.
“I think that’s the first stage for him, he’s been out that long, he needs to go and get some games somewhere, so we’re looking into that and that could happen quite quickly.”

Despite initially being billed as a central midfielder, Oisin is now seen by Michael as a central defender. He’s appeared there a couple of times for us, but as our head coach admitted, they wouldn’t put a positional stipulation in any outgoing loan player’s contract.
“You can have where we’d like him to play, but it’s like anything, isn’t it? If we brought a player here on loan, they’d have a preference where he plays, but ultimately… the manager of that club will decide,
“We can say that’s where we think we see him, and hopefully the club aligns to that, but you can’t ultimately tell people where to play because I wouldn’t like it if it was with me, so it’s the same.”

Oisin joined the Imps in 2021, with us having to approach FIFA for dispensation to sign him as he was at Derry, a Northern Irish club playing in the League of Ireland. Since then, he’s had loan spells with Peterborough Sports, Barwell, Drogheda, and a short stint with Boston, where he picked up his injury.
