Shayne Bradley
3 (0) Apps, 1 Goal
Bradley had bagged a few for Mansfield Town the season prior to joining us, 11 from 42 matches. He had struggled with injuries afterwards though and had fallen out of favour with Chesterfield in 2002/03 after being sent off three minutes after coming on as a sub against his old side Mansfield Two for spitting at Rhys Day.
He started two games, the convincing 3-0 win over Hartlepool and a solid 1-0 away win at Southend before picking up an injury. He sat out most of March before hitting a 15th-minute winner in a home tie with Kidderminster Harriers.
He was out again before the next match, withdrawn prior to kick off against Bristol Rovers after a warm-up injury. He returned to Chesterfield but was forced to retire before making another appearance.
Had he not suffered injuries I think Shayne Bradley could have been a strong lower-league striker. He had all the necessary attributes as he was big, strong and could finish too. He was a classic League Two forward with less finesse and more bustle than most, but sadly injury put paid to what could have been a promising career though.
Mind you he did manage a ratio of one goal in three games for Lincoln which is certainly better than a lot of players we could mention
