Two games over Christmas in 1998 didn’t make Bruce a hero at Sincil Bank, but when it comes to glittering careers, he is probably the most decorated to ever appear for the Imps. He played 440 times for Liverpool through the eighties and nineties, their most successful spell ever, lifting six league titles, three FA Cups, a European Cup and five Charity Shields (when it meant a bit more than it does today). He was known as the Clown Prince, famed as much for his antics as he was for his ability in the sticks.

The Imps have had some good keepers, many of which were better for us than he was, but at the height of his fame, he was sensational.
