I’ll be honest – I find this hard to take, I really do, but it’s no surprise the man who prompted this list appeared on it. Here’s a thing – his win percentage is better than big Keith, better than Colin Murphy’s second stint in charge, and better than John Beck. He took us to within a kick of Wembley in the EFL Trophy and within 90 minutes of the Championship for the first time in sixty years.

Still, there are those who saw the awkward second full season as an issue, the awful home form, and the frank Christmas interview. Such is a fan’s prerogative.
