Frank Sinclair came through the Chelsea youth system, making his senior debut in 1991 and going on to become a first-team regular at Stamford Bridge. He was named Chelsea’s Player of the Year in 1993 and played in both the 1994 FA Cup final and the 1997 final, where Chelsea lifted the trophy. He also scored in the 1998 League Cup final, helping secure a 2–0 win over Middlesbrough. In total, he made 169 league appearances for the club before moving to Leicester City in 1998.

At Leicester, Sinclair added another League Cup winners’ medal in 2000 and helped the Foxes win promotion back to the Premier League in 2003. Despite occasional struggles, including a reputation for own goals, he was a reliable defender over six seasons at Filbert Street and the Walkers Stadium. Later spells included Burnley, where he captained the club, and Huddersfield Town, before moving to Lincoln City in July 2008.

At Sincil Bank, Sinclair was signed by Peter Jackson to bring leadership and experience to the defence. He made 23 league appearances for the Imps, before finishing the season on loan at Wycombe Wanderers, where he helped secure promotion from League Two. He was released by Lincoln in May 2009. He confirmed afterwards that he was unable to appear more for Lincoln due to a clause in his contract that would have triggered an extension.
