Lincoln City Loan Watch: Mixed Christmas For Exiled Imps

Christmas has come and gone, and there has been a lot of football played by Lincoln City.

We’ve been focused on our own players, but how have the Imps we have out on loan got on? Here’s a look back over the festive period for our players out getting senior experience.

MJ Kamara – Glentoran

MJ has had a solid Christmas, playing in wins against Linfield (1-0) and Portadown (2-1). He scored in the second game, but across the board, he’s looked strong. He couldn’t get a game for his side, whose motto is ‘the game above all’, which does feel a bit Dani Rojas (yes, I’ve finally watched Ted Lasso), but MJ has proven persistence pays off.

Zane Okoro – Coleraine

Early in the season, Zane was a starter for Coleraine, but Christmas has not brought him much cheer. He played 84 minutes on Boxing Day as they were beaten by Ballymena, a defeat which has severely dented their aspirations. He got 12 minutes of their 3-1 win against Linfield, but he’s now without a goal since October 18th, and without an assist since November 1st.

JJ McKiernan – Burton Albion

JJ is still unavailable for Burton Albion, injured and not featured since the middle of November.

Oisin Gallagher – Boston United

Boston haven’t had a great Christmas, with the relegation zone slowly dragging them in, but Oisin is proving to be a big capture for them. Playing at centre half, he’s a permanent fixture in the side, and he scored the only Pilgrims goal of their 2-1 defeat against Brackley with a flick on, taking a heavy deflection.

In the two games against York and Brackley, he won more than 70% of his aerial duels. Against York, he won 79% of his defensive duels as well.

Charlie Parks – Gainsborough Trinity

Trinity had mixed fortunes, losing against Guiseley and then beating Cleethorpes Town in a Lincolnshire derby. Our lad Charlie Parks is a starter for them and played in both matches.

Jamie Pardington – Oxford City

Pardington is embroiled in a relegation battle with Oxford City, and they were beaten 3-1 by Merthyr Town on Boxing Day. He did keep a clean sheet with an impressive performance against former loan side Peterborough Sports earlier in the week, and continues to play well for his loan side.

Charlie Carlisle – Lincoln United

It’s been a turbulent week for the Whites, who saw manager Billy Heath resign after two defeats in three days against Grimsby Borough and North Ferriby. Charlie probably wasn’t too upset, as stand-in boss Dave Frecklington recalled him to the side for the 2-2 draw against Hallam a couple of days ago.

Bola Okewoye – Grimsby Borough

Bola is in the same division as Lincoln United, playing for Grimsby Borough, but he’s not able to get regular games. He was a sub for both their matches over Christmas, against the Whites, and North Ferriby on New Year’s Day.

Daniel Vanderpuye & Noah Simmons – Loughborough Students

Loughborough Students might sound like a school team, but they’re in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division – the same division as Bruno Andrade and AFC Rushden and Diamonds.

Both players started their 3-0 Boxing Day defeat against Shepshed Dynamo, before Noah was dropped for the game against promotion-chasing Mickleover. The Scholars started well, Dan was on target for them in the first half, and they went 2-0 up in the second, only to lose 3-2.
