It was a packed programme across Lincolnshire, with goals, comebacks and late drama shaping the local scene.
The standout fixture was the derby between Scunthorpe United and Boston United, both arriving in good form, with Boston particularly buoyant after their previous three matches. They made a blistering start and were three goals up inside 30 minutes. Curson opened the scoring in the seventh minute, Carson added a superb effort into the top corner in the 21st minute, and Rooney struck at the back post in the 23rd. In between, Scunthorpe were denied in the ninth minute by a fine save from Wogan.
Scunthorpe pulled one back in the 29th minute, but Boston responded immediately, Rooney scoring his second and Boston’s fourth in the 45th minute. There was still time for further drama before the break as Scunthorpe were awarded a penalty and Whitehall converted in the 46th minute to make it 4-2 at half time.
The second half continued at the same pace. Boston hit the post before Curson added another in the 50th minute. Although Boston were dominant, Scunthorpe won a second penalty in the 65th minute, which Roberts converted. Boston continued to press for more and, deep into stoppage time in the 98th minute, Curson completed his hat-trick and Boston’s sixth to seal a 6-3 victory, sending their 645 travelling supporters home delighted, and leaving Andy Butler’s side shell-shocked.
Gainsborough Trinity produced the comeback of the day against Workington. Unchanged from their previous outing, Trinity found themselves 2-0 down after 21 minutes. They had a chance cleared off the line before the break but trailed at half time. The second half saw them on the front foot, although they conceded a penalty in the 61st minute which Workington converted. Butroid pulled one back in the 70th minute, and four minutes later Gainsborough made it 3-2, with the goal credited to Mulhern after a deflection. In the 77th minute, Trinity were awarded a penalty and Mulhern converted for his second and their third. Workington nearly snatched it at the end but fired over, leaving the sides to share the points in a 3-3 draw.
In the United Counties Premier League, Harrowby’s trip to Hucknall was postponed due to an unplayable pitch. Boston Town, however, were beaten 3-1 at home by Gresley Rovers. Nuttall scored in the second minute, but Gresley equalised in the 36th and added further goals in the 52nd and 73rd minutes to hand Town a third straight defeat.

Grantham secured a 2-1 win over Deeping Rangers. After a goalless first half, Nathan Stainfield struck in the 53rd minute. Deeping equalised in the 77th minute, but Michael Jacklin scored four minutes into added time to earn all three points, moving Grantham up to third, three points behind second-placed Boston.
Skegness Town claimed a 2-0 win at Kimberley Miners. Declan Johnson scored from a corner in the 37th minute, and although Skegness dominated the second half without adding to their tally, Jordon Smith sealed it in the 92nd minute after Kimberley had pushed everyone forward, including their goalkeeper.
Spalding ran out 3-0 winners at home to Avelchurch. Sani scored in the 35th minute before second-half goals from Ceesay in the 49th and Cybulski in the 54th secured the points. Tom Pugh, Josh Taroni and Saleem Akanbi all made their debuts from the bench. Spalding sit four points clear at the top, albeit having played four games more than the side behind them.
Stamford drew 1-1 with Stourbridge. Cooke gave them the lead in the seventh minute. A Stourbridge player was sent off just before half time, and confusion followed as Stamford captain Duffy was also dismissed in the tunnel. Stourbridge equalised in the 86th minute and had a late effort cleared off the line, but Stamford held on for a point.

Lincoln United made it three wins in a row with a 1-0 victory over Bishop Auckland in front of 155 supporters at Ashby Avenue. Connor Brown scored in the third minute, and United held firm in a competitive contest, with Alan Power named man of the match.
Sleaford’s difficult run continued with a 3-0 defeat at Dunkirk. They went behind in the 27th minute and conceded an own goal just before half time. Despite chances in the second half, they could not find a breakthrough, and Dunkirk added a third in the 95th minute.
Pinchbeck were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Sandiacre. Sandiacre scored in the 35th minute, and despite three good chances after the break, Pinchbeck could not equalise. New signing from Lincoln City, Jaden Taylor, impressed in goal on his debut.
Brigg Town lost 3-1 away at Ilkley Town. They conceded in the third minute but equalised through Jon Oglesby in the 30th. However, Ilkley struck in the 85th and 91st minutes to secure the win.
