Player of the Season: Conor McGrandles (7.73)
In 2020/21, Lincoln City had Brennan Johnson, Morgan Rogers and Jorge Grant, and yet you voted Conor McGrandles as your Player of the Season, week by week.
Five years later, here we are again. He’s playing a little bit deeper, he’s tackling and harassing, breaking up play and becoming the pass before the assist in many ways, but the work he does has been spotted by you, and rightly so.
A rating of 7.73 is madness. Above seven is great, but close to eight, every week? It’s unbelievable how well he has done. In terms of goals and assists, he’s been outshone. He’s not in the defence, or between the sticks piling up clean sheets either, but he’s in the middle.
He is the heartbeat. The only League One fixture we lost at home this season was without Conor McGrandles. He’s on his way to 200 appearances for the Imps, and he’ll get there as a Championship midfielder. He’s young enough to have a major impact next season, old enough to be classed as an experienced player with a lot to pass on, and he’s your Stacey West Player of the Season for a second time.
Also, he did bag this screamer against Blackpool…..

Stay tuned tomorrow morning for the other awards!
Fully deserved and in my opinion should have been in the team of the season.
