Introducing: The Stacey West Patreons Panel

Welcome to our Patreons Panel, where, for each game, a selection of our Patreons will give you their prediction prior to the game and their assessment afterwards.

Here are our Patreons Panel in full.

Richard Godson

I’m approaching 70, born in Lincoln and now living near Boston. I’ve followed the Imps since 1966, initially with my father and later with my son. My favourite match was taking him to his first game against Blackpool in 1992. Gordon Hobson remains my all-time favourite player, and this is my first experience of second-tier football at Sincil Bank.

Dave Wilkinson

I’m 71 years old and live in Leicestershire with my wife Jo and our dog Smudge. We also have a son, Elliott, who is a fellow Imps season ticket holder. I retired five and a half years ago, and these days I spend much of my time following Lincoln City and playing golf. I’m a member of Rothley Park Golf Club, where I was Seniors Captain in 2025. I’ve supported the Imps since February 1964, when my first game was a 4-0 home win against Halifax Town, featuring a Bud Houghton hat-trick. Once I started work in 1972, I regularly travelled home and away, although after moving away from Lincoln in 1986, refereeing commitments restricted me to around four games a season until the mid-2010s.

I’ve held a season ticket since 2016. I’ve been fortunate enough to witness some wonderful matches over the years, including the away trips to Cardiff and Reading last season, MK Dons away in 2019, the cup games against Ipswich, Brighton and Burnley, and the 2003 play-off semi-final against Scunthorpe. Going further back, the 9-0 win over Bournemouth in 1982, Harry Redknapp’s first game as a manager, stands out, as do so many memories from the incredible 1975/76 season. The 5-0 home win and 4-2 away victory against Doncaster were particular highlights, along with the trip to Stockport when we became the first team in many years to reach 100 league goals.

As for favourite players, the list includes Matt Rhead, Harry Toffolo, Jack Moylan, Glenn Cockerill, Mick Harford, Percy Freeman, Peter Grotier and Brendan Bradley. After more than 60 years supporting the Imps, there are certainly plenty of memories to choose from!

John Ward

My name is John Ward (no relation to THAT John Ward!), and I am 21 years old. I’ve been a season ticket holder in the upper 7 block of the GBM stand since the 2023-24 season, although I’d always taken a keen interest in the club’s fortunes from a young age. My first game was a 2-0 win against Accrington in our first season back in the football league, and my favourite moment as a fan has to be promotion day at Reading. I also write the information on the opposition for the IMPress ‘progzine’ and can occasionally be found selling it around the ground on a matchday.

Jo Bigger

I’m Jo, lifelong supporter of Lincoln City, me/ my dad can’t remember my first game, but I was at the Milk Cup game against West Ham in 1982, so it would have been around that time. Now I am an exile, enjoying the London away games this season and trying to get to as many games as possible! As for my favourite game, I am still enjoying the memories from last season; Cardiff away was fantastic! Up the Imps.

Karl Mercer

My first game was a 2-1 win over Barnsley at Sincil Bank on 27 December 1975. I’ve never been overly concerned with tactics and can enjoy a dour 0-0 as much as a last-minute winner. For me, it’s the people I travel with, the friendships and shared passion that make supporting the Imps worthwhile, whatever the result.

Paul Allinson

Born and lived in Lincolnshire most of my life, but over in Nottinghamshire more recently. Professional bean-counter. First went to the Bank in the late 1970s; kids persuaded me to get a ST a decade ago (good decision). Fondly remember Wycombe in 1988, but loving the big games in the Championship this year.
