Sean Raggett news imminent

Danny has revealed that Sean Raggett has been the subject of some interest, and that we will ‘have a conclusion’ very soon.

Speculation has been intense surrounding the talented centre half, and in recent weeks the lack of news has frustrated fans and manager alike, However, it seems as though we may be very close to a ‘conclusion’, although there isn’t any indication of what that might be.

City play Exeter this weekend and they will be travelling down the night before. However, Danny has revealed that he  is not travelling with the squad, he didn’t mention whether that meant he was driving himself or whether he is unavailable. It does sound very much like Sean Raggett’s future could soon be settled.

It sounds as though there has been a firm offer and that Sean is currently talking to someone. Danny has been able to say that, but he has revealed he’s looking at bringing ‘one, maybe two’ in before the transfer window shuts. In previous press conferences he mentioned wanting a striker, but the key here is the ‘maybe two’. If Sean goes the need for a centre back increases.

One of the options previously discussed was of Sean signing for a big club and then returning on loan. That may still be an option, but with him not travelling with the squad it may not be the case. However, Danny was very reticent when discussing whether Sean would be available or not, and he didn’t actually say he wouldn’t be playing. It could be that he is thrashing out terms tomorrow ahead of a loan move back to the club. Danny certainly seemed happier in the press conference than when speaking of the situation in recent weeks.

Luke Waterfall is back to full fitness, he’s trained all week and it may be that he drops straight back into the side if Sean doesn’t feature. City were heavily linked with Fraser Franks of Stevenage at the beginning of the summer, but it’s rumoured Stevenage value the player around £100k which could have ruled us out at the time.

  1. Gary – is it Danny who isn’t going down with the squad or Raggs? Can’t quite work it out. If not Danny then presumably he is doing transfer business. My vested interest as a Bristol based Imp will be a trip to the Failand training ground tomorrow!

  2. Norwich local news reports that Raggs has signed for them but loaned back to us until January. If true this is a decent result.
