On loan keeper Ryan Allsop has settled quickly at Lincoln, saving a penalty on his debut and turning in solid performances in the league.
He’s come from Bournemouth and whilst chatting to him for the latest match day magazine, #UTI, he revealed he can see similarities between Lincoln 2018 and the Cherries side of 2012.
“I can see similarities between Bournemouth and Lincoln. I joined them when they had a good run in League One after they’d gone a lot of games unbeaten. It was really similar to coming here, Lincoln had lost one in eighteen. The feel around the club and the way the fans get behind the players is all very similar to Bournemouth.”
The atmosphere we generate isn’t just about the results though, Ryan told me it helps in all aspects of the game, from pushing on in the final five minutes to helping new lads settle in.
“It goes a long way to helping the new lads settle in and there’s such a good feel here at the moment. That’s down to the staff, the fans and the other players. They make it such an easy place to come in and I’m really looking forward to the next part of the season.”
I thoroughly enjoyed my chat with Ryan, he’s such a down-to-earth lad, honest and friendly too. In the exclusive interview he reveals how an unusual loan move got his career back on track, how his professional debut was like his Imps debut and discusses being released at an early age. Don’t miss out.
