Grantham Town striker Lee Shaw trains with Imps

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s article about non-league gems, Grantham Town striker Lee Shaw has been training with the Imps and may go away to Spain this coming weekend with the squad.

Prolific striker Shaw has long been suggested as one for the future after bagging more than 50 goals in the last two seasons for the Gingerbreads. He’s still only 23-years old and has recently attended Jamie Vardy’s V9 academy, furthering his development.

In a Facebook post shared on social media, he’s thanked the club for the opportunity to train with them and stated there’s a chance he may go away with the squad later this week as they jet to Spain for a low-key pre-season get together ahead of a tough round of friendlies.

Shaw has also played for Harrowby United and has made a habit of picking up goals as well as Player of the Year awards in the south of the county. News he is training with City proves that there is in fact not a problem with Danny’s transfer policy and that the club are exploring all avenues when it comes to player recruitment.

The news will delight a some fans who are also non-league aficionados as Lee Shaw is a name they’ve been putting forward for over a season now. His eye for goal, along with his swift, high-intensity style, is clearly a fit for us in the Football League. The next Mo Eisa? We’ll have to wait and see.,

  1. This is an interesting one. Good (And well connected friend) tells me Boston United are very interested in him but are being put off on basis they are being told he has already signed a contract at Coalville Town.

    • I’ve heard Boston United are interested in Adam Marriott too. But that would be a bit of a surprise seeing as he put out an interview recently saying he wanted on last crack at full time professional football and Boston will definitely be staying part time next season.
