Who are tonight’s trialists?

Christian Mbulu

I’m pretty sure this one is spot on, after all how many Christian Mbulu’s can their be on trial with clubs at the minute?

Mbulu is on the books at Millwall, the former club of Harry Toffolo and last year’s trialist Noah Chesmain, so it makes sense to assume he is the latest to come from that vein of talent. He joined Millwall from Brentwood Town in 2016, but hasn’t made an appearance at the Den.

He’s a centre back, which is odd given that we seem to have filled that quota, but perhaps if Danny is considering a 3-5-2 he wants more cover. It could also be that Bozzie is being considered in midfield and Mbulu is being looked at as cover.

He’s been on loan at Braintree, but in 2016/17 after Danny and Nicky left.

Alex McQueen

Is Alex McQueen also known as Alexander, the former Carlisle United player? it seems likely.

He’s a full back or a midfielder, comfortable with either foot which would satisfy the slight need for cover at right back. He’s a bit older than the others, 23 years old, and he’s got a bit of pedigree too. He came through the Spurs youth team before spending two seasons in League Two with Carlisle, making a total of 31 appearances. He had left before we got promoted, so he hasn’t visited the Bank competitively.

After leaving Carlisle he spent time in Finland, firstly with PS Kemi and then VPS which is where he’s been most recently. He signed for them on a one-month probation, but that option was not extended and he left in May.

He’s represented his country, Grenada, once in a 2-2 draw with Trinidad and Tobago in 2017 and counts Harry Kane as a former team mate.
