As we know, Danny went over to the Irish Cup final recently, accompanied by Jez George, on a recruitment drive.
Leaving no stone unturned is par for the course with Danny and the League of Ireland has been generous to us in the past. City plucked Jeff Hughes and Gareth McAuley from the Emerald Isle and both of those went on to great things. A young James McClean was also due to move to City, only he got homesick and didn’t.
The next batch of hopefuls were on show at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, not all seeking a move to England but certainly some will want a stab at our Football League. Their own competition is thriving and there is Champions League football to be had, but as McAuley and McClean show, players coming from there can go on to achieve great things, with the right ability and application.
The match Danny watched took place between Cork City and Dundalk, ending in a 2-1 win for the latter. Plenty of talent was on show, but which players was Danny looking at? Who might be able to handle the culture change of a move to Lincoln, but become a key player for us going forward?
Who is the next Ronan Curtis?
We pick a handful of players we think Danny might have been running an eye over.
