Another Imps transfer target, midfielder Mark O’Hara, was at the club’s training ground yesterday for more talks with Danny Cowley, as revealed by Peterborough press.
Barry Fry has told them that O’Hara is the subject of a bid from the Imps, but as yet he hasn’t made his mind up on the move. He spent the day with us yesterday, but is still pondering the switch.
“Mark O’Hara to Lincoln has dragged on for a fortnight,” Fry said. “There is no other club after him, but he is still pondering over the move.”
O’Hara has started 14 League One games this season and had Posh fans revelling after three goals in his first two games, including a brace against Rochdale in the EFL Cup. Since then he’s tumbled down the pecking order and it is believed that perhaps this is a permanent switch, rather than a loan move.
He was at Dundee last season where made 39 appearances,, scoring twice in a 2-1 win over Glasgow Rangers and playing in all four meetings against Scottish treble winners Glasgow Celtic. He’s 6ft tall as well, offering an imposing threat in the attacking third.
O’Hara is a box to box midfielder who can play either in front of the back four or in it at centre half, in a traditional midfield role or even behind the striker. He’s also able to play on the right side of the pitch, from right back to wing back, but that is very much a second string to his bow.
