Four out of contract League Two players City could snap up this summer

At the end of last season, Boateng was the name on all Imps’ fans lips. he’d impressed when we beat them 3-2 in the league, then looked sensational as they eliminated us from the play-off hunt. This year I expected him to tear up League Two, but that hasn’t happened.

He’s started 15 matches for the Grecians, but has been out since October with a hip injury. His last goal for his club came against us in the play-off defeat and without the benefit of a big season this time out, he might not be attracting as much attention when his deal is up.

If he gets fit, he’s one we’d be doing really well to bag. He offers penetration and pace and can play in a variety of positions as well. If a deal could be struck with him and his agent, we’d be getting a player who seriously improved the squad.

  1. Elliot Embleton, on loan at Grimsby, from Sunderland would be my choice. Out of contract in the summer and I know (family connection who was his youth coach) he is not happy there. Not sure if he is on Dannys radar but Freck could not get near him when they played at SB
