Tributes have been flowing in over the weekend from former Lincoln City players as the Imps secured their place in League One next season.
After a rather drab 1-1 draw with Cheltenham, the club’s immediate future seemed up in the air, but after a short debate punctuated by a manic woman from Sky running around like a six-year-old full of E numbers, the news was confirmed. The Imps were going up.
It won’t exactly send shock waves through the football world, but we’re the first side to be promoted this season, a real achievement by any stretch of the imagination. The draw also meant we’d gone 19 matches unbeaten in the league, another great statistic to bolster the notion that we’re the best team in the division.
In terms of functionality, we’re the best in the land.
Ex-Imps from across the ages have been taking to Twitter to congratulate their former teammates or former club on the achievement. From players who played at the very highest level, to those who managed just a few minutes in red and white, the goodwill certainly flowed over the weekend.
Here’s the pick of their responses.

Even a player we were only linked with, but never actually signed, took the time to wish us all the best.
