Danny Cowley set to make decision on Imps’ trialists

The Imps gaffer has told the club’s official website he’s close to making a decision on the trialists currently looking to secure a contract at Sincil Bank.

The Imps have had a number of players looking to impress over the last few weeks. Alex Bradley did enough to earn himself a deal in his short period with the club, but as pre-season turns into the real action, our manager is acutely aware he has to strengthen the squad.

That may be done using the players who have been seeking to stake a claim for a permanent deal this summer. One of those is thought to be Jarvis Edobor, the former Brentford centre back. That’s one position we’re looking light on going into the first game of the season, something Danny acknowledged.

“It is obvious where we need to improve and we are working really hard but we want the right player and the right deal and with the right player sometimes you can’t make the right deal,” he said.

“We won’t give up and we will be determined to see if we can get one or two deals done.

“We will make some decisions about the trialists, there a few of them who have been with us for quite a long period now so we will make some quick decisions for them. There are players who have interest elsewhere so we will have to make a decision over them within the next 24 hours.”
