The released Man Utd players that should interest the Imps

Ethan Hamilton

Hamilton is a little younger than the others, coming in at 21-years-old and he’s got League One experience. He might not be shouting about it though; he started the season at Southend (coming off the bench in our 4-0 win against them) and finished it at Bolton (playing 90 minutes as we beat them 5-1). Sincil Bank hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for him, but that could work in our favour. If he has been exposed to our excellent home support twice, as well as seeing some of the other places on offer, it must leave us at the front of the queue if we want him.

In total, he has 44 appearances at our level taking in an earlier loan spell with Rochdale, as well as having played for Scotland up to Under 19 level. He plays left centre of midfield and has been utilised as a left winger, but looks happier tucked into a 4-2-3-1 formation as part of the two in the middle; an area we look desperately short on. My only concern would be the need for a bit of experience in there, having already got Tayo Edun as a youngster to develop, but Hamilton’s senior football might make him a useful addition.
