The Imps travel to Rochdale this weekend, looking to avoid defeat for a sixth trip there in succession.
You can watch the game live, it is available on iFollow as all games are so far this season. as per our new regular feature, we have a quick look at the man in the middle, the matchday referee.
Referee – SAM ALLISON
Assistants – Paul Stonier and Kenwyn Hughes
Fourth Official – Robert Lewis
Sam is a former National League referee, who took charge of our 3-2 win against Woking during our title season. He didn’t quite ascend with us, he’s spent the last four seasons at that level, only climbing to the Football League at the beginning of this season.
That is the only time he has taken charge of the Imps, and this will be his third game in League One. In total, he has officiated in eight FL games, with Northampton and Charlton his first in League One, followed by Shrewsbury and Swindon.
Thus far this season, he hasn’t brandished a red card, and averages a relatively meagre three per game. He only sent two players off all last season, one of which was former Imp Tom Champion, which will doubtless put a smile on some faces.
