Worst Performance of the Month – Portsmouth (H) 4.63

I genuinely think this was made worse by the occasion; Danny Cowley returning made the game very much an ‘old v new’ affair for many. Everything about the game stank for me. I didn’t enjoy the build up, I hated the game and I didn’t like the fallout afterwards. All the unpleasantness bubbling under the surface burst out after this result, and it hasn’t stopped since. I’m not writing about it anymore.

Best Performance of the Month – Bowers & Pitsea 6.11

This rating would have made the game the worst in both January and March, but here it is, top of the pile for a truly horrible November. It’s the last time we scored a home goal, the last game we won and yet it seems so far away. A handful of players did well; Max Sanders got MoM with 7.3, Whilst Draper, Maguire and Sam Long delivered 7.2. Too few players turned up to make it a classic, but it was as good as November got. If you’d told me that on the evening after the game, I’d have cried.

Best Individual Performance of the Month – Adam Jackson v Doncaster 7.6

Adam Jackson played two matches in November, and his outing against Rovers in our 0-0 draw was enough for you to give him the outstanding performance of the month. It was a clean sheet, our only one to date in the league, and we didn’t really look like conceding that afternoon. He’s a big miss when he’s out, as was seen this week when he went off against Crewe, and the hope is he’s fit for tomorrow, otherwise it’s a makeshift Imps side once again patched up and sent out in hope, more than expectation.
