Jorge Grant Signed On Loan

 

This one really pained me at the time. Grant arrived from Forest on a permanent deal, and at the time, Danny Cowley thanks Forest for trusting us with his development. It sounded a lot like a loan deal, but in fact, he’s moved here permanently, and Forest retained a future interest in him. Fast forward a couple of months, and Danny leaves the club with Grant not having had a huge impact.

Immediately, there were rumours of him going back to Forest. I remember them well; it was the game we lost 1-0 to Bristol Rovers when Tom Nichols dived for a penalty. I had to explain to multiple people we’d signed him permanently, dispelling the Mandela Effect at the time.

Even today, some people will insist he came here on loan first.
