It’s that time of year again when Lincoln’s own Neil Buchanan David Squires releases another book of cartoons to the world.

It’s actually really annoying. I take hours to write up a game, delve into the numbers and stats, then another couple of hours to record a podcast and go even deeper, only for a guy with a pack of crayons to come along and sum it up far better, in a wittier, more accessible style, in three pictures. I mean, I can acknowledge the talent, but why do I even bother? Not only that, but he pumps everything he generates into the club and good causes because there are a few overheads on crayons and paper.

In all seriousness, Chris Wray (Imptoons) should be deemed a community asset. Fans eagerly anticipate his images after games, and his yearbook is packed with little bits and bobs we haven’t seen. It’s an essential purchase for supporters who want a permanent record of the season that will instantly raise a smile.
