Zak Bradshaw has joined League Two side Tranmere Rovers on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old signed for the Imps in January and spent the second half of the 2023/24 season in the League of Ireland with Dundalk.
Bradshaw has been involved in pre-season throughout the summer and will now continue his development with Tranmere.
City’s director of football Jez George said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for Zak to gain experience in League Two at a good club, under an experienced manager, to accelerate his pathway towards our collective aim of Zak playing for Lincoln City in the future.
“Zak has trained and played well throughout pre-season, impressing Michael and the coaching staff, but the potential long-term benefit for Zak and us from this loan is too good to turn down. We will monitor his progress and we look forward to seeing his continued development.”
Tranmere are managed by former Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins, and certainly represent a big loan move for Bradshaw. They finished 16th in League Two last season, but will be expecting a better campaign this time out.
Bradshaw is widely tipped to play left wing-back for the Imps, but he’s also played left centre-half over the summer, and will offer defensive flexibility to Tranmere.
The choice of League Two, rather than the National League, is also significant, and underlines the management’s belief, having seen his development since January.
